Introduction
Louvain, January 25, 2024
Fintech company Isabel Group launches Flowin, a new solution enabling European businesses to swiftly embrace electronic invoicing. Flowin’s API or software integration makes every ERP, accounting, and invoicing software compatible with the European Peppol network for sending and receiving e-invoices securely. Isabel Group aims to assist businesses to be ready by January 1, 2026, for mandatory electronic invoicing in Belgium.
An e-invoice is not merely a PDF version of a paper invoice but a structured UBL file (Universal Business Language, an XML-format document) containing all necessary financial data. For exchange, businesses in Europe predominantly use the Peppol network via authorized access points.
To send e-invoices, Belgian businesses must first connect to the Peppol electronic invoicing network. Flowin bridges the gap between their ERP tool or other invoicing tool and Peppol. Thus, Flowin automates the sending and receiving of invoices from their existing software. This automation enables clients to save time, reduce encoding errors, and mitigate invoice fraud risks.
Through the Peppol network, Flowin automatically prepares the e-invoice in the recipient’s software. Recipients do not need to save an email attachment or process the invoice differently. The recipient then has the option to directly validate the invoice or initiate an approval process.
Sales Model
With Flowin, Isabel Group targets businesses across Europe. Fifteen software partners have already integrated the API into their solutions. The sales model is simple: software partners subscribe to a plan and pay per client who activates e-invoicing, not per e-invoice.
Marie Costers, VP Business Solutions at Isabel Group, expresses satisfaction that e-invoicing is finally underway: “With CodaBox, we already provide electronic copies of purchase invoices to accounting firms through more than 50 accounting solutions. We have now consolidated this expertise into a new software solution aimed at software developers, allowing SMEs to send and receive their e-invoices with ease. Through Flowin, software developers can assure their SME clients that they are ready for the widespread obligation of e-invoicing, which will be applicable by the end of next year.”
Processing a structured e-invoice costs nearly six euros less than a paper invoice, providing a financial advantage to both senders and recipients.
