ACTUAL UPDATE (2026). For software & ERP providers, 2026 compliance now means: sending and receiving via Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 (default), EN 16931 semantic completeness, rounding only at VAT‑rate totals, operational monitoring of delivery/feedback statuses, handling ‘fallback’ scenarios when counterparties are temporarily not technically ready. Penalty tolerance applies in Q1 2026 when reasonable preparation can be demonstrated; after that, enforcement tightens. Also keep an eye on ViDA: EU cross‑border e‑invoicing + digital reporting becomes mandatory from 1 July 2030, with convergence by 2035.
